Andre Gomes Gets a Salary Bump from West Ham

Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes is set for a move to West Ham after it upped his transfer bid from £ 18 million up to £20 million. Aside from West Ham, Everton was another club who showed strong interest in the 25-year-old Portuguese player. Gomes spent the previous season at Goodison Park but on loan.

Pochettino’s side decided not to follow up on their interest in the player and will be open to moving Gomes earlier in the week. West Ham’s manager, Manuel Pellegrini tells the Daily Mail, how necessary it was to score Gomes for West Ham. Getting a central midfielder like Gomes was West Ham’s top priority, something the team’s management was willing to go into a bidding war with Everton.

Everton, on the other hand, is now expected to make a bid for Gomes who Barcelona turned down 29 times last season. Gomes contract has 2 years left of validity, and with Barca declining the West Ham offer for Gomes, the final say has not yet been made and will have to wait a few more days till Pelligrini decides where to move Gomes.
