Everton Gets Alex Iwobi in the Deadliest of Deadlines for £30m

There’s something about young blood in football and when it comes to might and promising talent, Alex Iwobi is a name that pops up. The 23-year-old Nigerian footballer reportedly completed a £30million move from Arsenal to Everton on the transfer deadline day no less. Iwobi is set to be Marco Silva’s seventh player to be signed this coming summer, alongside Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Moise Kean, Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph, Jonas Lossl, and Djibril Sidibe at Goodison Park.

2015 was Iwobi’s break out the year where he scored an impressive 15 goals in 149 senior appearances for Arsenal, where he expressed his burning desire to “create history with the Toffees. When speaking to Everton TV, the Nigerian footballer said, ‘The offer was too attractive for me to turn down. The manager was telling me, “There is a spot for you; we will take care of you”. Basically, all the things you want to hear as a player. I always had that youngster tag at Arsenal, so hopefully, with this move, I am able to make a name for myself in the Premier League and create history with Everton.”
