France Brings Home World Cup Victory 4-2 Against Croatia

The World Cup championships took place last July 15, Sunday with France bringing home the victory with a leading score of 4-2 against Croatia. France scored the biggest win by a scoreline since 1966 and formerly in 1930 and 1938.

With a 21st century team bringing France’ a much-deserved championship, it is no doubt the team that Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe made champion is filled with exciting new talent that has more to offer in the next few years. Pogba, along with Raphael Varane executed beyond compare on the field last Sunday. It would be difficult to underestimate Pogba’s contributions to the game, as well as the team as a whole.

The team of Didier Deschamps who is now the third man to win the World Cup both as player and manager has shown promise and excelled tremendously on the field. The French manager was able to deliver a team with a superb playing power who played one of the most exhilarating games against Argentina, as well as bringing down the stadium with the match against Belgium.

Throughout the 90 minutes, Luzhniki Stadium was able to go through an out of body experience with the VAR that helped bring back France’s first-half lead. Another reason is Pogba’s goal which capped off the tournament, along with Mbappe’s fourth goal which was ultimately the most collective power grab since Pele in 1958.

A lot of people did anticipate Croatia to win since they were thought to be the better team, although, France did execute in a battle after three extra-time knockout matches which was everything but basic. Croatia did have more possessions and a better experience during the first half of the match.

This particular World Cup final since 1974 is the first to see three goals prior to half-time. When Lloris was reminded why he is in the goal, Croatia throughout of getting a revival, trying their best to play sweeper and circling the ball around Mandzukic, Lloris lost out to a tackle that eventually sent Croatia home crying. France took the ball into the net claiming another World Cup championship in their hands.
