Malaysian Fans Gives Mad Props to Safawi Rasid for brace in Indonesia Victory

Malaysia’s win against Indonesia in last Tuesday’s match with a score of 2-0 during the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers has Safawi Rasid and his team on the good graces of Malaysian football fans. The scintillating match took place in Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 22-year-old winger had all eyes on him for the night as he delivered and netted a brace with a brilliant free-kick.

 

The online football community immediately took to social media their excitement and praise for the Malaysian footballer. With some folks tweeting, “What a majestic finish from Safawi Rasid. He scored when it matters. He is Malaysia Most Valuable Player of 2019 for a reason.” Another fan even compared him to Lionel Messi, saying “Lionel Messi? No, Safawi Rasid. ” with a video of his swift free-kick attached.

Rasid was not done making the audience growl, during the 89th minute, he almost scored his third goal of the game but instead, he cut the right-wing before curling the ball towards the far corner. Nevertheless, Rasid’s brace is enough to confirm Harimau Malaya’s victory, bringing Malaysia up to second place in Group G of round two of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
