Mo Salah Wins Premier League’s Player of the Season

The end of the football season means the commencement of awards season. Several players across various leagues all made their appearances last Sunday during the Premier League awards ceremony. The event took place at Anfield Stadium where other accolades were presented to varying players in different categories throughout the 2017-2018 campaign.

Liverpool players made their entrance at the red carpet with many other Premier League players, managers, coaching staff and officials. Mohamed Salah was pronounced player of the season. The 25-year-old player received the most combined votes from a panel of experts, Premier League captains, and fans via a public vote.

Salah’s performance throughout the 2017-2018 campaign was nothing short of impressive and it’s no surprise that the Egyptian footballer received such a prestigious award. With 31 league goals, 43 goals in 50 appearances across all matches in his debut campaign, Salah became the joint-highest scorer throughout the season. With an upcoming match against Brighton & Hove Albion, the Liverpool forward holds more potential for being a sole record holder.

Among other awards, Salah earned himself a few more accolades which include Liverpool’s Player of the Season, Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year, Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year and the African Player of the year.

The quest to be the best isn’t completely done for Salah, he still has one more kick in him to bring Liverpool to European glory. Liverpool faces off with Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev on Saturday, the 26th of May. There’s nothing more to do but wait and see how the Egyptian forward will carry his team to the highest victory.
